What we do

Voluntary Arts Wales is the Wales development agency for the participatory arts in Wales. We exist to promote and support participation in the arts as a force for personal development, community cohesion and fun.

Voluntary Arts Wales works across the whole of Wales to provide mentoring and help with planning, development, training, networking, fundraising and marketing strategies. We also act as the sector’s advocates at Arts Council and Assembly level .

We provide mentoring and support to voluntary and community arts organisations and our database contains contacts for more than 1600 groups across Wales.

The best news of all, our services are FREE and available in both Welsh and English

However, VAW is currently very limited in its ability to give mentoring or support to these arts groups throughout Wales, due to a drop in funding and subsequent reduction in staff levels.

Whilst this should certainly be viewed as a temporary situation, until further notice we will be limited to giving advice via email, letter or phone only as we no longer have the staff levels to cope with person to person visits and support.
